In February 2010 John travelled to Oslo in Norway where he shot a special appearance in the film ‘Teori og Praksis’ (Theory or Practice). Later re-titled ‘Sons of Norway’ (Sønner av Norge).

The film is based on the ‘Theory or Practice’ book by author Nicolai Frobenius and deals with Nicolai’s adolescent relationship with his father as he rebels with music and the Sex Pistols in the suburbs of Norway. John plays himself in the film.

Sons of Norway was directed by acclaimed Norwegian director Jens Lien, and produced by Christian Fredrik Martin & Friland Produksjon. John Lydon and Asle Vatn are executive producers.

It was premiered in September 2011 at the Toronto Film Festival where John Lydon was in attendance.
