John Lydon Goes Ape
John Lydon Goes Ape
Channel 5 / Objective Productions, November 2004
The second good nature-d special for Five. Much more than monkey business. Nature as you’ve never saw it before. Nature Rotten Style. John’s back in the Jungle, but this time there’s no human parasites or culture vulture’s; he’s on the trail of Apes, Chimps and Arsenal tops!
John and Rambo continue their African quest traveling to Uganda. In a visit to the Ngamba Chimp Sanctuary some cheeky monkey’s have a grab at his banana, one licks his hair, while another throws stones at him. Just a bunch of “Happy little hooligans”.
John and John cross the Equator and trek through the dense jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of the largest living ape: the endangered Silverback Mountain gorilla. In some truly touching TV John gets within 10 feet of a family of the creatures, a very rare occasion, and one that even leaves Mr Rotten lost for words: “Words are useless…”
They finish up in Rwanda seeing wild Gorillas up close and personal. Then it’s time to go ape with some locals celebrating the mountain gorilla…
“Save the Go-ril-az !”
